Breakfast Bites : Porridge

                                    

 

                                      Easy Corn porridge 

 

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 2 cups water
  • curd (as desired)
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp jeera (cumin) powder

Method : Clean and pick the corn seeds. Grind it in a mortar or mixie to a coarse powder. Store in a container for future use. Can be stored upto one year. Boil water in a pan, add the cornmeal and let it cook for 20 minutes. Alternatively cook it in a pressure cooker for 10 minutes. Remove from fire and let it cool. Mix in the curd to make it a semi-solid consistency. Sprinkle the cumin powder and salt.

Note : Boil the cornmeal and store in refrigerator for couple of days to avoid the morning rush hour cooking ! Take out of refrigerator and mix-in rest of the ingredients for a quick breakfast.

Savoury  wholegrain  corn porridge is ready.
